EiTB is a public-owned broadcasting corporation dependent on the Basque Government. It was created in 1982 and operates four limited companies: ETB, S.A. (television), EUSKO IRRATIA, S.A. and RADIO VITORIA, S.A.A (radios) and EITBNET, S.A. (Internet).
EiTB has three sites. The Bilbao site, opened in 2007, is home to the main site and the Group`s television, radio and Internet business.
The sites at Miramon (San Sebastian) and Vitoria-Gasteiz both handle a radio broadcasting facility, and the former also produces television programmes.
The EiTB Group has an extensive programming schedule. There are five television channels: ETB1 and ETB3, in Basque only, ETB2 and ETB4, in Spanish, ETBSat broadcasting to Europe, and Canal Vasco for Latin America and the USA.
Five radio facilities, Euskadi Irratia and Gaztea in Basque; Radio Euskadi and Radio Vitoria in Spanish, and EiTB Musika with specific culture and music content. There is also an Internet division; eitb.eus – in Basque, Spanish, English and French – specializing in information and other digital content for specific targets: young people, children, entertainment.
